Every human being has unlimited potential. We can not predict or underestimate the human capability. Many predictions which were limiting the human potential became the blunders in the history. I can give many examples for it.
1. Radio- " Radio has no future"- Lord Kelvin, president, Royal Society of London, in 1897.
2. Radio- "The wireless music box has no imaginable commercial value. who would pay for a message sent to nobody in particular?"- David Sarnoff's associates, in response to his urgings for investment in the radio in 1916.
3.Telephone- "This is too many short comings to be seriously considered as a means of communication. The device is inherently of no value to us".- Western Union internal memo, 1876
4. Talking cinema- "Who the hell wants to hear actors talk?"- Harry Warner, Warner Brothers, 1927
5. Plane- "Heavier than air- flying machines are impossible"- Lord Kelvin, president, Royal Society , London,in 1895
6. Computer- "I think there is a world market for may be five computers"- Thomas Watson, chairman IBM in 1943
7.Moon Voyage- "Man will never reach the moon regardless of all future advances"- Dr. Lee De Forest, inventor of the vacuum tube.
8.The Beatles- "We don't like their sound and guitar music is on the way out"- Decca recording co. rejecting the Beatles in 1962.
9. Lata Manngeshkar- "Singing is not your cup of tea"- Sashadhar Mukherjee, the producer of the film"Shaheed"in 1948.
10. Xerox machine- In 1940s Chester Carlson's idea was rejected by 20 companies. after 7 years of rejections, in 1947 accepted- that idea was Xerox machine.
So if anybody in the world- who may be your father, mother, teacher, friend, brother- underestimates you, kindly reject their statements because those are their opinions, not facts. The fact is "Human potential is unpredictable". So find your potential and make a history. There was a great Gandhi in Mohandas, great Buddha in Siddhartha, great Vivekanandhan in Narendran. Like this, a great "____", in you and me..The great social work is to find "the great" in us..
